Deep Learning has long since permeated the field of traditional machine learning, effectively changing the way we think about data analysis. Despite its ongoing hype, many aspects of Deep Learning are still not well understood.

To understand how this pragmatic paradigm affects research in Medicine, this workshop aims to elucidate the intricacies of Deep Learning in Medicine by covering:

·         The role that cognitive circuitry of the brain played in the birth of Deep Learning

·         The radical differences between Deep Learning and traditional machine learning

·         The fundamental concepts of practical data analytics in Medicine

·         Practical applications of Deep Learning as well as its limitations

·         Tips and tricks on training and designing Deep Learning methods
